The Sunday and Monday leagues bowl at Brunswick Perry Hall Lanes, 4359 Ebenezer Road, Nottingham, MD 21236, (410) 256-6300. The Thursday league bowls at AMF Ritchie Lanes, 6608 Ritchie Hwy., Glen Burnie, MD 21061, (410) 761-3800. The leagues bowl for 32 weeks, starting after Labor Day. In the event of inclement weather, the league officers will make the decision if the league will bowl that day. If not, these games will be made up. Call the bowling alley before venturing out in inclement weather. The league officers will alert the bowling alley staff if the decision has been made to not bowl. The following league rules have been adopted. TEAMS: Teams will consist of 3 members per team made up of any combination. Up to 4 members may be listed as roster members. Roster members must be added by the 6th week of each half. Also, they may not bowl for any other team. LEGAL LINE-UP: 1 team member constitutes a legal line-up. A legal line-up must be present by the start of each game(s) or that game(s) will be forfeited. LATE BOWLERS: A late bowler may enter the game provided the opposing team has not completed the 3rd frame of that game. FORFEITS: There will be no automatic wins, present team must bowl and beat the absent teams average score minus 10 pins per bowler (plus handicap if any). Forfeit team loses every forfeited game. COST PER WEEK: Total cost of bowling per bowler per night shall be $14.00 - $15.00. The last two weeks of bowling must be prepaid by the 6th week of bowling. The team captain is responsible for collecting and recording all bowlers' fees. This is a guaranteed league; if absent, you are still responsible for all missed fees when you return. Checks will be accepted. If you bounce a check, you will be responsible for all collection fees and you will not be allowed to pay by check again. SANCTION FEES: All members must be USBC Sanctioned. The sanction fee is $20.00 for men and $16.50 for Women. The sanction fee must be paid on the bowler’s first night of bowling. ARREARAGES: No individual bowler can be in the arrears for more than 2 weeks. If so, that bowler (or sub) will not be permitted to bowl until such arrearages are made up. The team will be notified of such arrearages. AVERAGES: Prior year average will be used first. If none is available, the highest current yearbook average will be used for the first 9 games bowled. If a bowler has no such average, their average will be based on the total pinfall for the first 3 game set they bowl in this league. HANDICAP: Shall be 90% of the difference between the total of the team line-ups, handicap going to the lower of the two teams. This helps level the playing field between experienced and less experienced bowlers. STANDINGS: Will be on a 4 point basis: 1 point for each game, 1 point for total pin fall. In case of a tie, each team will split the point(s). ABSENTEE SCORE: If a bowler is absent, deduct 10 pins from the bowler’s average. VACANCY SCORE: A vacancy score shall be 150, and considered a legal team member. A bowler is considered vacant until they bowl their first ball in league competition. PRE-BOWLS: Pre bowling is allowed on an individual or team basis except for position rounds (weeks 16 and 32). The bowler must give the secretary at least 24 hours notice. If the secretary is not given notice, the scores will not be allowed. POST-BOWLS: Post bowling is allowed only if determined an emergency by the League Board of Directors. If a team has a legal line-up, no post bowl will be granted. SUBSTITUTE BOWLERS: Substitutes will be allowed. However, no substitutes will be allowed to bowl during position rounds (weeks 16 and 32). A substitute must have bowled at least 9 games in order to bowl the last 2 weeks of each half (weeks 14-15, 30-31). The absent bowler is responsible for that week's fee. RESIGNATION: A league member who resigns from the league must give 2 weeks written notice to the league secretary. The resigning member is obligated to pay any back fees as well as covering the 2 weeks notice. The bowler forfeits any and all prize money to the team. LEAGUE AWARDS: A bowler must have bowled at least two-thirds of the season to be eligible for any league awards. No individual or team may receive more than 1 league award. In the event of a first place tie, there will be a best 2 out of 3 game roll-off. All other ties, money will be divided equally between all teams tied for that position. PROTEST: If a protest or dispute has been called for whatever reason, it must be settled or pursued at that point, not when the game(s) have been completed. ***Anything not covered above will be first governed by the league Board of Directors.
